Lucca Cafés Especiais

Lucca Cafés Especiais was founded in June 2002 in Curitiba by Georgia and Luiz Otávio Franco de Souza, both former civil engineers, making it one of the first specialty coffee roasteries in Brazil. The name honors Luiz Otávio's grandfather, João Pedro Lucca, a coffee producer in northern Paraná whose legacy inspired the family's shift from engineering to coffee. Georgia Franco de Souza serves as master roaster and regularly travels across Brazil as a Coffee Hunter, selecting micro lots from farms in regions like Caparaó and evaluating each against SCA scoring standards. The roastery maintains more than 40 different micro lot labels throughout the year, each accompanied by full traceability and detailed sensory profiles. Lucca's barista team is among the most decorated in the country, holding 14 Brazilian championship titles, and Carolina Franco de Souza earned the 2014 Brazilian Brewers Cup Championship before competing at the World Brewers Cup.
