This is a Mexican single origin coffee decaffeinated using the Mountain Water process. The beans are processed at the Descamex plant in Mexico, where green coffee beans are washed with pure glacier water from Pico de Orizaba, Mexico's highest mountain. This chemical-free method removes 99.9% of caffeine while preserving the bean\'s original flavor characteristics. The coffee is smooth and full-bodied with distinct notes of chocolate, honey, and cream. It is categorized as a Medium Roast.
Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
