Hard Lines started as a small Aeropress pop up bar serving filter coffee in Cardiff and grew over several years into one of Wales's best known specialty roasters. The roastery operates out of Gwaelod y Garth, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, using two Loring eco friendly roasters: an S35 Kestrel and an S15 Falcon. They run three locations in the Cardiff area, including a café in Penylan inspired by Italian neighbourhood coffee bars. The offering rotates with seasonal fresh crop arrivals, and the brand's distinctive smiley face identity was developed with designer Cadilane.
