About This Coffee

This medium roast blend was developed in partnership with The Hess Collection winery to capture the essence of their estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend consists of 40% Ethiopia Limu Kosa District natural process from Kebena Kossa Estate at 6,200 feet elevation featuring indigenous heirloom cultivars, 40% Rwanda "Isimbi" fully washed Bourbon varietal from smallholder farmers at 3,600-6,600 feet elevation, and 20% Sumatra Mandheling Grade 1 wet hulled process from Northern Sumatra and Aceh regions featuring Typica and Catimor varietals at 3,900-5,600 feet elevation. The blend showcases blue and black fruit flavors with savory herbaceous notes including thyme and sage, along with blackberry and bittersweet chocolate notes.

Derek Bromley founded Ohm Coffee Roasters in Napa, California in 2016, leveraging his expertise as a sommelier and musician to approach coffee with the precision and passion he brings to other crafts. Bromley, a graduate of Cornell Hotel School and lead guitarist for the band Mama Said, began by operating a family coffee truck at farmers markets before establishing a dedicated roastery in Napas Rail Arts District. Two Loring machines, an S35 Kestrel and S15 Falcon, enable precision roasting while blend names inspired by guitar amplifiers (Full Stack, Half Stack, Tweed, Handwired, Black Magic) showcase Bromleys creative vision. In October 2024, the roastery opened brick and mortar cafes, expanding the brands reach while maintaining the artistic approach that defines the operation.
