This coffee is produced by Nestor Lasso and Jhoan Vergara at El Diviso farm in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia at 1750-1800 meters altitude. It is a Caturra varietal processed using double anaerobic fermentation - first for 20 hours, then in smaller batches for 16 hours, followed by washing and submerged fermentation in leachate for 18 hours before mechanical drying. The coffee offers exciting notes of fresh peach and tropical fruit with coconut cream and Brazil nuts body.
Pharmacie Coffee Roasters was founded by Rick Curtis, who spent over five years running specialty coffee shops in Brighton and Hove before opening the roastery in Lewes, East Sussex, in 2021. The name was inspired by a 1970s French pharmacie sign Rick kept behind his couch and the "drugs" signage at Stumptown in Portland, which had shaped his coffee thinking. The move to Lewes came at the suggestion of Danny Tapper from Beak Brewery, who pointed Rick to an old warehouse at the Cliffe Industrial Estate. Rick roasts on a Giesen W15 and also offers a co roasting service, hiring out the equipment to other coffee professionals. The space hosts a seven day brew bar, social bike rides, live music, art exhibitions, and training sessions.
