This single-origin washed coffee from Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands is grown by several hundred local smallholder farmers at elevations of 1,400–1,900 meters. The blend includes Arusha, Bourbon, and Typica varieties. The cup profile features melon, pear, and cola notes with a balanced, mellow acidity and creamy, syrupy body.
Square One Coffee has been roasting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania since 2000. Josh and Jess Steffy took ownership in 2007 and refocused the operation on specialty grade coffee, responsible sourcing, and barista education.
