This coffee is a Topazio Peaberry lot from the Santo Antonio farm in the Mogiana region of São Paulo, Brazil, grown at an altitude of 1600-1700 meters. It is a natural processed coffee produced by smallholder farmer Patricia Coelho. The flavor profile features notes of cherry liqueur, complemented by a rich and syrupy body with toasted hazelnut and dark chocolate characteristics.
Pharmacie Coffee Roasters was founded by Rick Curtis, who spent over five years running specialty coffee shops in Brighton and Hove before opening the roastery in Lewes, East Sussex, in 2021. The name was inspired by a 1970s French pharmacie sign Rick kept behind his couch and the "drugs" signage at Stumptown in Portland, which had shaped his coffee thinking. The move to Lewes came at the suggestion of Danny Tapper from Beak Brewery, who pointed Rick to an old warehouse at the Cliffe Industrial Estate. Rick roasts on a Giesen W15 and also offers a co roasting service, hiring out the equipment to other coffee professionals. The space hosts a seven day brew bar, social bike rides, live music, art exhibitions, and training sessions.
