This is a blend combining Sumatra, Nicaragua, and Ethiopian coffees. The Sumatra and Nicaragua components are roasted just to the edge of second crack for caramelization with a slight smokiness and bite. Ethiopian coffee is roasted fully into second crack and blended in, adding forceful fruitiness. The result is a dark roast with earthy, chocolate, and dark berry flavor notes. The blend was inspired by a hike along Linville Gorge in Pisgah National Forest. This coffee is certified organic, fair trade, and roasted by a certified B-Corp. 5% of sales support the Dogwood Alliance for Southern forest conservation.
