Single-origin Brazil coffee aged for several weeks in retired American white oak charred whiskey barrels that previously contained Fox Trail Distillery bourbon whiskey. The beans are grown at 1,200 meters altitude and consist of red and yellow Catuai, yellow Bourbon, and Catucai varieties, harvested July-September. Processed using the pulped natural method and roasted to medium level. Flavor profile features vanilla, oak, bourbon, dark chocolate, and spice with a creamy body and medium acidity.
Carol and Eric Blanchet established Talking Crow Coffee Roasters in 2017 in Springdale, Arkansas. The roastery specializes in single origin specialty decaf coffees, sourced exclusively through the Swiss Water Process from Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil, with every lot third party certified mold free. They roast on an electric fluid bed roaster, a technology chosen to minimize carbon emissions compared to traditional drum roasters. All coffee is roasted to order in small batches Monday through Friday, with nothing more than a week off roast. Both Carol and Eric hold SCA Roaster Level 1 certification. The business is independently and women owned.
