Melbourne expat Nicholas Stone launched Bluestone Lane in 2013 after his investment banking years left him craving the neighborhood coffee culture of his hometown, opening first in a signage-free Midtown Manhattan hole-in-the-wall. The former AFL footballer built out a Brooklyn roastery equipped with a Loring Kestrel, sourcing directly from farmers across three continents while methodically recreating Australia's local café experience.
