About This Coffee

This coffee originates from Rubirizi Hill near Gaharo in the Kayanza region of Burundi, grown at 1750 meters altitude. The Red Bourbon variety cherries are delivered to Bukeye Washing Station, operated by Long Miles Coffee and managed by Agathon Ininahazwe. The station was built in 2013 and is known for its Coffee Scout Program, which provides agronomic training to thousands of producers. The coffee undergoes full washed processing using clean mountain water and is dried on raised beds for around 20 days. The extended drying time combined with the region's cool climate develops clarity, vibrant acidity, and delicate fruit character. This filter coffee features tasting notes of apple, green grape, and sugar cane, offering a clean, crisp, and fruit-forward profile typical of Northern Burundi washed coffees.
