This coffee is sourced from the Gicumbi region in the northern province of Rwanda, produced by Kalisimbi Kiwieds Coffee (KKC). The beans are harvested from 10-year-old Bourbon trees and undergo an anaerobic fermentation process for 5-7 days before being dried. This coffee offers a distinct flavor profile characterized by a wild, kombucha-like sweetness and vibrant fruit punch notes.
Lineage Coffee Roasting was founded in January 2012 by Jarrett and Justine Johnson in Orlando, Florida. The couple started with a retrofitted grill and an ice cream motor powering a 3 kilogram roaster, and within months had upgraded and begun building a reputation for meticulous small lot roasting. By 2015 they were traveling to Guatemala and Colombia to establish direct trade relationships, later expanding those connections into Kenya and Ethiopia. Today Lineage operates three café locations across Orlando, cups and dials in every coffee served, and runs a wholesale program alongside a roasting academy. The hands on approach that began with a homemade setup continues to define the company's identity more than a decade later.
