About This Coffee

This coffee comes from the Inzovu Washing Station in the Gakenke region of Rwanda, located near Lake Kivu at elevations between 1,600-1,900 meters above sea level. Inzovu means "elephant" in Kinyarwanda, symbolizing strength and presence. The washing station works with hundreds of smallholder farmers who cultivate coffee in fertile volcanic soil with a cool climate that allows cherries to mature slowly. Processing follows Rwanda's classic fully washed method with cherries hand-sorted, pulped, fermented, thoroughly washed, and slowly dried on raised African beds. This is a peaberry coffee roasted for espresso with gentle fruit sweetness reminiscent of dried raisins, light white tea-like elegance, and a smooth caramel finish.

His Brew Roastery

His Brew Roastery was started in 2020 by brothers Josh and John in their parents' car porch in Shah Alam, using a 200g home roaster during Malaysia's lockdown. What began as a side project grew rapidly, moving to a commercial space in 2021 with a 3kg roaster before upgrading to a 6kg machine to meet demand. The roastery operates under a "No Fluff, Just Coffee" philosophy, letting each single origin speak for itself through small batch roasting and careful sourcing from Ethiopia, Colombia, Panama, and Indonesia. Josh, a former data analyst, handles the business side while John leads roasting, and the pair have sold over 100,000 bags nationwide since launch. Their name is a quiet nod to the brothers' faith, and that understated sincerity carries through in everything from their sourcing transparency to their partnerships with more than 20 independent establishments across Malaysia.
