Diamonds Coffee Roastery

About This Coffee

This coffee originates from the Ngororero region in western Rwanda, grown at altitudes up to 1950 meters above sea level. The coffee is processed using the natural method at the Kabyiniro processing station, where fully ripe cherries are dried whole on raised African beds, allowing natural fermentation and absorption of the fruit's sweetness. The coffee features a fruity profile with notes of strawberry, blackberry, and orange, delivering a juicy acidity and clean finish. The coffee is produced by a cooperative of 28 farmers, predominantly women, who established their collaboration in 2003.

Diamonds Coffee Roastery

Diamonds Roastery is a family operation run by Tomáš and Dáša from Dunajská Lužná, a town just outside Bratislava, that traces its origins to a Christmas gift in 2014: a plastic popcorn maker and one kilogram of green Kenyan coffee. That modest start led to a Huky 500g roaster in 2015, a four day roasting course with Cup of Excellence judge Paul Songer in Kyiv, and eventually a full specialty roastery that now tastes over 800 coffees a year to select roughly 50 exceptional lots. The company has expanded beyond coffee into bean to bar chocolate production, and its packaging is known for playful Slovak phrases contributed by both the team and their customers. Diamonds supplies a network of cafes across Slovakia and Czechia and sells direct through its online shop.
