This is a washed Rwandan coffee from Rwamatamu washing station in Rwanda's Western Province. Established in 2015 by husband-and-wife team Rutaganda Gaston and Mukantwaza Laetitia, the farm and washing station sit on rich volcanic soil at 1,600–2,000 meters altitude near Lake Kivu. The coffee is processed using traditional washed method with 12-hour fermentation in concrete tanks, foot-stomping agitation, density grading, and 30 days of drying. Expect soft orange acidity, molasses-like sweetness, and a clean black tea finish in a light-medium roast.
Murmuration Coffee Co. is a specialty roastery based in the Chichester area of West Sussex, founded by Dom Pulleyn, a veteran of some of the UK's biggest specialty coffee names and a competitor in the UK Barista Championships. The name evokes the unity and interconnection of a murmuration of starlings, reflecting the roastery's emphasis on relationships throughout the supply chain. Dom sources coffees with a focus on provenance and quality, working with producers like the Ospina family in Huila, Colombia, whose Linocaro farm has placed repeatedly in the Cup of Excellence. The range spans single origins from Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Colombia alongside signature espresso blends.
