Natural processed coffee from Tarrazu, Costa Rica, produced by San Diego Mill and smallholder farmers at 1200-1750m elevation. Blend of Caturra and Catuai varieties. Dark roast with flavor notes of apple jam, salted dark chocolate, and almond. Features a smooth, balanced profile with warm nuttiness, velvety texture, and subtle wine-like notes characteristic of natural processing.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
