About This Coffee

This coffee is a blend from the high-altitude micro-regions surrounding Jaén and San Ignacio in northern Peru. It showcases the collective skill of smallholder farmers in the Cajamarca region, with contributions from producers farming 1–2 hectares each. The coffee is composed of Caturra and Catuai varieties and is hand-processed on each farm before being graded and cupped at the warehouse to ensure quality.

Redemption Roasters

Redemption Roasters was founded in 2017 by Max Dubiel and Ted Rosner with a singular mission: reducing reoffending through coffee. The roastery operates a Loring S70 Peregrin inside HMP The Mount in Hemel Hempstead, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, and opened a second facility in Wembley in 2023. Barista academies now run in nine or more prisons across the UK, and over 1,500 individuals have completed training programmes. The results are striking: a 4% reoffending rate among their graduates compared to the national average of 42%. Redemption operates twelve London coffee shops and generates £3.47 in social value for every pound invested. Sourcing reflects the same ethos, including beans from Colombian ex paramilitary farmers rebuilding their lives and from female producers in Brazil.
