About This Coffee

This coffee is from the Nueva Segovia region of Nicaragua, grown by Janaina Silva and Jaime Moncada at their family farm in the community of La Laguna in Dipilto. The farm has been producing coffee for over 70 years and this specific lot is called La Parainema, named after the Parainema varietal grown in this area. It is a washed coffee cultivated at 1250 meters above sea level. The cup offers bright notes of tangy lemonade and herbal iced tea, sweetened with earthy coconut sugar.

Olfactory Coffee Roasters

Olfactory Coffee Roasters grew out of Mariya Popova and Angel Parushev's obsession with coffee during their university years in Cornwall, with the couple beginning in 2010 and launching formally in 2013 from the Old Brewery Yard in Penryn. Mariya developed the roasting through extensive experiments and profiling. The name plays on "old factory" and the olfactory senses, a nod to both the building and the sensory craft of roasting. They roast and ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays, maintaining long term trading relationships with partner farmers and travelling to origin to build connections and check working conditions. The range includes single origins, blends, and fully compostable Nespresso compatible pods. A café in nearby Falmouth serves as the retail front.
