About This Coffee

This coffee is a single origin from Sironko, Uganda, grown on the slopes of Mount Elgon at 1500-1850 meters altitude. Processed at Mbare Washing station using fully washed methods, the coffee is made from SL28 and S:34 varieties. Tasting notes feature candied lemon with light brown sugar and dark chocolate body, finishing with a lingering aftertaste.

Pharmacie Coffee Roasters

Pharmacie Coffee Roasters was founded by Rick Curtis, who spent over five years running specialty coffee shops in Brighton and Hove before opening the roastery in Lewes, East Sussex, in 2021. The name was inspired by a 1970s French pharmacie sign Rick kept behind his couch and the "drugs" signage at Stumptown in Portland, which had shaped his coffee thinking. The move to Lewes came at the suggestion of Danny Tapper from Beak Brewery, who pointed Rick to an old warehouse at the Cliffe Industrial Estate. Rick roasts on a Giesen W15 and also offers a co roasting service, hiring out the equipment to other coffee professionals. The space hosts a seven day brew bar, social bike rides, live music, art exhibitions, and training sessions.
