This is an ultra-limited SL28 coffee from Hacienda La Minita in Costa Rica. The SL28 seeds were brought from Kenya to the farm 5 years ago, with this year representing the first exportable harvest of only 40 kilograms total. The coffee is processed using the traditional Kenya triple washed process, which includes an additional cold fermentation stage in water after depulping before being dried on raised beds. The result combines Costa Rican terroir with a Kenyan profile, featuring ripe purple fruit and berry notes.
Vivid Coffee was founded in 2015 by Ian Bailey in Winooski, Vermont, initially roasting on a five kilo machine in the back of a local ice cream parlor.
