Tango is a blend of two Rwandan coffees from neighboring farms in the Southern Nyaruguru District, both using the Red Bourbon variety but processed differently. It combines a washed coffee (Lighthouse) with a natural coffee (My Cherry Amour). The coffee is grown by smallholder farmers and the Ikizere Women Producers group at altitudes ranging from 1535 to 1900 meters above sea level. This light roast offers the clean, soft acids of washed processing with a subtle fruity finish and delicate berry aromas from the natural processing. Flavor notes include milk chocolate and field berries.
The Artery Community Roasters is a social enterprise based in Ottawa, Ontario, employing people living with disabilities at living wages. They roast in small batches on a Coffee Crafters Artisan XL with a capacity of up to 10 pounds per roast, and ship within one week of roasting. Sourcing is done on a direct trade basis, maintaining one to two degrees of separation from the farmers. The Artery was named Coffee Roaster of the Month by Commonly Coffee.
