This coffee comes from the Ilomba cooperative, located in the Mbozi district of Mbeya region, Tanzania, near the village of Iluya. Founded in 1997 and granted cooperative status in 2006, Ilomba produces fully washed coffee grown on farms typically under 2 hectares, at altitudes between 1,700 and 1,900 meters above sea level. Varieties include Bourbon, Kent, and Typica. The coffee displays a fruity brightness reminiscent of Kenyan coffees, with tasting notes of raw sugars, red raisins, and fragrant citrus, with a pronounced sweetness leaning toward molasses.
