About This Coffee

El Nido is a high-mountain coffee farm in the Brunca region of Costa Rica, managed by producer Jhonny Marin at 1500–1900 meters altitude. The coffee is the Catuaí variety, processed using an Anaerobic Natural method with coffee fruit must (mosto de fruto de café) — ripe cherries are sealed in airtight tanks with concentrated cherry juice rich in yeasts, then sun-dried on patios or African beds. Tasting notes include ripe orange, dehydrated fruit, caramel, and hazelnut praline.

Harmony Roasters began in 2021 when Dani sold his motorbike to buy a one kilogram capacity roaster. Together with his partner Agatha, who handles photography, social media, and the web presence, Dani built a micro roastery in Montcada i Reixac on the outskirts of Barcelona. His approach favours minimal intervention, letting the coffee's natural character come through rather than imposing a heavy roast signature. It paid off quickly: Dani won both the Catalan Coffee Roasting Championship and the Spain Roasters Championship in 2021, then took the Catalan title again in 2022. The roastery uses fully compostable packaging and supplies several businesses around Barcelona.
