Thunguri - Kirinyaga, Kenya

A micro lot washed AA grade coffee from the Thunguri washing station, located at the foot of Mount Kenya in the Kirinyaga region, processed by the Kibirigwi Farmers Cooperative. Grown at 1700 masl, the beans are SL28, K7, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties, harvested in December. AA grade requires beans of exactly 7.2mm diameter with no visible defects for even roasting. Flavor profile is juicy and intense with sweet notes of blackcurrant and raspberry. Winner of the Solberg & Hansen bronze at the Global Coffee Awards 2025 in the Filter – Washed category.
