This blend combines coffees from Brazil, Rwanda, and Mexico sourced from woman-owned farms. The beans are grown at altitudes between 1200-2000 meters. Processing methods include washed processing for the Rwanda and Mexico components, and natural processing for the Brazil component. The coffee offers a smooth and mellow flavor profile with hints of lemon and caramel. It is dark roasted and creates a nicely balanced cup suitable on its own or as a latte. Formerly called Superior Blend.
Zach and Denise Gamza opened Empower Coffee Roasters in April 2020 in Mesa, Arizona, building a 700 square foot facility that houses the roastery, a small kitchen, and front of house seating. Roasting runs on a 5 pound machine made by Arizona based Buckeye Coffee Roasters, with green coffee sourced through Cafe Femenino and Cafe Imports. Five percent of all sales go to nonprofits supporting women and girls through education and career development, including a partnership with the Live and Learn organization in Arizona. The woman owned operation sources specifically from women run coffee farms around the world.
