This single-origin coffee is sourced from the Bugisu region of Uganda, grown in volcanic loam soil at an elevation between 1300 and 2000 meters. It is a washed and sun-dried coffee featuring a blend of Blue Mountain, SL-14, SL-28, and Bourbon varieties. The roast profile is medium, offering a flavor profile characterized by notes of macadamia nut, sweet ground cocoa, and cardamom.
Better Buzz Coffee was founded in 2002 by college students Tim Langdon and Stephanie Garden, starting as a coffee cart in San Diego before opening their first café in Pacific Beach in 2007. The roastery in Vista, California runs a Diedrich CV45 with a 100 pound batch capacity, producing approximately 2,500 pounds per week. The business holds CCOF organic certification and sources Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified beans. Growth has been rapid, with the store count doubling from 12 to 24 locations between 2022 and 2024 before expanding into Phoenix and Las Vegas. As of late 2025, Better Buzz operates 42 locations across California, Arizona, and Nevada.
