Whisky Barrel Aged Double Bourbon Coffee

Whisky Barrel Aged Double Bourbon Coffee

UE Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This Rwandan coffee from the Mageregere region is grown at 1800-1950 meters altitude. It features the Bourbon variety and undergoes a unique barrel aging process in eight-year-old single-use bourbon whisky barrels from Kentucky, in collaboration with Cotswold Distillery. The beans rest in the barrels for periods ranging from one week to two months. The result is a coffee with rich, boozy decadence featuring notes of honey, vanilla, and spices. The barrel aging process imparts gentle whisky undertones that harmoniously blend with the naturally sweet characteristics of the Rwandan Bourbon beans.

UE Coffee Roasters

UE Coffee Roasters was founded in 2009 by Dominic Boyett in Witney, Oxfordshire, with the roastery established in 2012. The team brings over 50 years of combined experience in specialty coffee and roasts Monday through Friday at their production facility, which is visible to visitors through the adjoining roastery café. They source from 58 farms through direct, long standing trading relationships, and every wholesale partner receives on site quality control visits every six weeks. Beyond roasting, the business offers SCA barista training courses, equipment rental programmes, loose leaf tea blending, and a white label roasting service. All packaging is 100% recyclable, and the company works with machine partners including Victoria Arduino, Conti, Rocket, and Mahlkonig.
