This natural processed Caturra micro-lot from La Union, Nariño, Colombia features vibrant acidity and abundant sweetness. Produced by smallholders in the La Union region, the coffee was carefully hand-picked using only the ripest cherries and hand-sorted to remove defects. The cherries are sun-dried on raised beds under temperature-controlled conditions until ideal moisture content is achieved. The Caturra variety is a natural mutation of Red Bourbon that originated in Minas Gerais, Brazil, known for higher yields and disease resistance.
Radical Roasters was founded in 2021 by Cat in the Easton neighbourhood of Bristol, making it the city's first woman owned, queer and non binary led micro roastery café. Cat is a Great Taste Award coffee judge, two time UK Barista Championship semi finalist, and finished fourth in the 2016 UK Coffee Roasting Championships. She started with a 1kg Bullet roaster in a shed and quickly upgraded to a larger leased machine. The roastery sources from two small scale importers with 20 year relationships at farm level. Free workshops for marginalised groups are part of the mission to promote diversity in the coffee industry.
