Yellow Catuai, Honey: Nery Campos

Yellow Catuai, Honey: Nery Campos

Anthology Coffee

About This Coffee

This coffee is a Yellow Catuai variety from Guatemala, specifically produced by Nery Campos in the Santa Cruz Naranjo region at 1600 meters altitude. It is a honey-processed coffee where the beans are fermented for 1 day, then pulped leaving the honey juice in the peel, and dried on beds with natural ventilation for approximately 10-15 days. This method allows the coffee honey to impregnate the beans and develop fruitier flavors. The tasting notes include candied fruit, pineapple, tropical fruit, berry, and peach.

Anthology Coffee

Anthology Coffee was founded in 2011 by Josh Longsdorf as Detroit's first specialty coffee roaster, initially operating inside the PonyRide entrepreneurial incubator before relocating to a 2,900 square foot space in the Eastern Market District. The build out of the current facility was funded in part by a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $21,000. The roastery focuses exclusively on single origin coffees with no blends, letting variety, processing method, and terroir speak for themselves. All roasting happens on a 6 kilo Mill City machine under tight micro roaster quality control, with beans sourced from Ally Coffee and small farms in Kenya, Brazil, Guatemala, and beyond. The space doubles as a tasting room with two 18 foot custom coffee bars.
