Quickborn Roastery

About This Coffee

This seasonal filter blend combines coffees from Kenya and Colombia. The Kenyan component from Thirikwa Farmers in Kirinyaga region features SL28 and SL34 varieties grown at 1,600-1,700 meters. The Colombian component is Bourbon Rosado from Finca Río Negro in Huila's Acevedo region at 1,650 meters, run by Jhon Rodríguez and his family. The Kenyan coffee is traditionally washed for clarity and bright acidity. The Colombian Bourbon Rosado undergoes experimental co-fermentation with orange and passion fruit, using anaerobic fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast for 3-4 days. Flavor notes include passion fruit, grapefruit, and berries with juicy acidity and sweet tropical character.

Quickborn Roastery

Quickborn is a specialty coffee roastery based in the Devín district of Bratislava, founded by Tomáš, a barista, and Petru, a bartender, who started experimenting with a small roaster in a tool shed. That early tinkering led them to convert a horsebox into a mobile coffee and cocktail unit, and the operation has since grown to cover weddings, corporate events, festivals, and rooftop parties using both the horsebox trailer and modular folding bars. The roastery handles everything from 250 gram retail bags to 250 kilogram wholesale orders, and its coffee listings on specialty platforms show single origins from producers in places like Uganda's Mount Elgon region. The name Quickborn and the dual focus on craft coffee and cocktails reflect the founders' belief that great drinks deserve the same care whether they start with a bean or a bottle.
