Cast Iron Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

A washed Geisha coffee from Peru, grown on the farm Pluma Dorada in Santa Rosa, Colasay, Cajamarca at 1,820 meters altitude. This rare Geisha variety is produced by third-generation farmer Andy Llanos Delgado, who processes the coffee using a submerged fermentation method where the seeds ferment for 48 hours in water before being washed and dried on raised beds. The coffee displays an elegant profile with notes of elderflower, chardonnay, green apple, and blood orange, featuring bright acidity and tea-like body.

Cast Iron Coffee Roasters

Tilly and Guy Spurr, a husband and wife team, founded Cast Iron Coffee Roasters in 2014 in West Sussex. Guy, who holds a degree in computer science and economics, handles the roasting on twin 15kg Toper drum roasters from their workshop near Chichester. Green beans come through direct trade specialists DR Wakefield, Interamerican Coffees, and Falcon Specialty. The roasting philosophy is straightforward: showcase each bean as faithfully as possible to its origin. All coffee is hand roasted to order with the roast date stamped on the pack, typically reaching customers within three working days. Cast Iron also supplies La Marzocco, Elektra, and Britesso equipment and offers barista training alongside wholesale coffee to independent shops, restaurants, and other venues across the UK.
