This single-origin coffee originates from Fazenda Monte Verde, an award-winning farm in Sul de Minas, Minas Gerais, Brazil, at elevations ranging from 1,000 to 1,260 meters. The coffee features a sweet, full body with clean, chocolate, and buttery caramel flavor notes. Medium roast preparation highlights the coffee's characteristics. The farm practices sustainable agriculture and has been recognized as a Brazil Cup of Excellence finalist and winner of the 2012 EMATER quality contest.
Amy and Scott Angelo founded Oceana Coffee Roasters in Tequesta, Florida in 2009, beginning with a DIY popcorn maker before evolving their equipment as the operation expanded. A 7 kilogram Diedrich in 2011 provided their first purpose built roaster, and today they operate a Giesen roaster that enables greater production capacity and precision. Scott holds certification as an Arabica Q Grader and maintains 15 year relationships with brokers and farms, sourcing exclusively from the top 5 percent of coffees worldwide. Recognition includes a Silver Medal at the Golden Bean World Series and Scotts selection as Overall Best Roaster at the 2016 Golden Bean North America competition, acknowledging the roasterys pursuit of excellence.
