Brazil Cerrado coffee originates from Minas Gerais state in the Cerrado region. This single-origin coffee is processed naturally from Yellow Catuai and Mundo Novo varieties grown at 1,158 meters elevation. The beans are dark roasted with a full body, delivering a creamy mouthfeel with mellow acidity and rich chocolate and nutty notes.
Uncommon Coffee started as a cafe in Saugatuck, Michigan in 1994, founded by Guy Darienzo and Stephen Keye. In 2021, after 27 years under the original owners, the business was acquired by Bruno Nobre and Mauricio DaSilva, both from multi generational coffee farming families in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. They had previously supplied beans to Uncommon as partner farmers, making the transition from grower to roaster a natural one. The roastery now serves over 200 businesses across the Midwest. Uncommon is farmer owned and minority owned, and operates with a goal of being landfill free, using BPI certified compostable cups and sleeves throughout.
