A single origin coffee from Brazil, specifically from Fazenda Das Almas in the Cabo Verde region of Sul de Minas. This coffee is processed using the Mosto Anoxic Natural method, where cherries are hand-picked, density separated, and fermented in an air-lock tank with mosto and molasses for 120 hours before being dried. The variety is Rubi MG 1192, a Mundo Novo and Catuaí hybrid, grown at 1100 meters altitude. The coffee displays intense fruity characteristics with notes of bruised strawberry, cherry syrup, grape soda, cherry cola, grape jam, and plum, complemented by a distinctive resinous finish featuring clove, lavender, rosemary, and lemon thyme. Despite being a Brazil coffee, it offers unusually high acidity for the origin.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
