This coffee is from Fazenda Paraiso, a 756-hectare farm in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Owned by the Veloso family since 1970, the farm uses drip irrigation and produces coffee at 1130 meters altitude. The beans are naturally processed and include varieties of acaiá, red Catuaí, and yellow Catuaí. The cup profile is sweet and full-bodied with notes of chocolate, toffee, nougat, hazelnut, and caramel. It has a balanced, medium body with a creamy structure that makes it suitable for espresso, moka, Turkish, and milk-based drinks.
Founded by wedding photographers Ivana and Marko, Kava Family began with a single derelict space on Hvar island transformed into cafe Kava 37 before expanding to Split's mainland market. Their team includes Q Grader and coffee buyer Tobias Berg, who sources directly from Latin American origins after extensive travel through producing regions. The brand's visual identity reflects Hvar's landscape—green for vegetation, yellow for Mediterranean houses, blue for the Adriatic—creating a distinctly Croatian coffee aesthetic focused on community building and quality sourcing.
