This coffee is sourced from Butegana Washing Station in Burundi, one of the oldest washing stations in the country established in 1952. It is a Red Bourbon varietal processed using an anaerobic natural method with yeast inoculation using LALCAFÉ INTENSO™ (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). The cherries ferment for approximately 36 hours in sealed containers before being dried on raised beds for 10-14 days. The surrounding region features Red Bourbon trees over 50 years old, known for high cup quality. The yeast fermentation helps express fruity and floral characteristics while maintaining a clean flavor profile.
