This espresso blend consists of 60% Arabica from Brazil and 40% Robusta from Tanzania. The Brazilian Arabica comes from the Cerrado and Mogiana regions, produced by Cemorrado at 1250 meters altitude, featuring Mundo Novo and Catuaí varieties with natural processing. The Tanzanian Robusta is from the Bukoba region, produced by KCU at 800 meters altitude, with washed processing. The result is a full-bodied espresso with very low acidity and rich crema, with flavor notes of nut and dark chocolate. Suitable for espresso machines, fully automatic machines, and stovetop brewers.
Maximilian Kranz and Dominik Münstermann founded Bohnenkartell in Essen, building a cafe and roastery whose playful name, meaning "Bean Cartel," belies a serious commitment to specialty coffee. All green coffees meet the SCA Specialty Coffee standard of 80 points or above, and each batch is individually roasted on a drum roaster to preserve the unique aromas and characteristics of its origin. Bohnenkartell also offers SCA certified barista courses, cementing their role as both a quality focused roastery and an educational resource in the Ruhr Valley's specialty coffee scene.
