Dear Green Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This single-origin coffee is grown in the Huila region of southwestern Colombia, nestled between the Central and Eastern ranges of the Andes. The variation in elevation makes Huila one of Colombia's most unique and complex coffee-producing regions. The coffee is washed processed and then decaffeinated using the Ethyl Acetate (EA) method, which removes 99 percent of the caffeine. The EA decaffeination process uses a naturally occurring ester found in bananas and fermented sugars to bond with and remove caffeine from the green coffee beans through an eight-hour process of soaking and steaming.

Dear Green Coffee Roasters

Dear Green Coffee Roasters was founded in 2011 in Glasgow, Scotland, by Lisa Lawson after a formative period working at Toby's Estate in Australia. The company is named after Glasgow's historic Gaelic nickname, "the dear green place," and sources exclusively specialty grade coffee through trusted importers and direct producer relationships, with Lawson personally visiting farms to verify ethical practices. Dear Green employs in house Q Graders to maintain strict quality control, only releasing coffees that meet its sensory standards. The roastery holds Certified B Corp status and prioritizes traceability, organic certification where possible, and sourcing from women producers.
