Dam8 Coffee

Dam8 operates from the iconic address of Dam 8 in the very heart of Amsterdam, directly overlooking the Dam Square and the Royal Palace, a setting that makes its Naked Espresso coffee bar one of the most dramatically positioned specialty coffee destinations in the Netherlands. The operation was founded by AMGroup and staffs its bar with award winning baristas whose competition experience translates into a level of craft and consistency that sets Dam8 apart from the tourist oriented spots that surround the square. Dam8 roasts and sells a focused selection of single origin filter coffees including an Ethiopian Botto Village honey processed lot from the Jimma area grown at elevations between 1950 and 2000 metres, a Costa Rica Hacienda Colima, a Colombia El Placer, and a Brazil Fazenda Jaguara, each chosen to highlight distinct terroir and processing characteristics. Beyond the coffee bar, Dam8 offers professional barista training courses from its premises and rents out The Boardroom, a meeting room with panoramic views over the Dam that has earned repeat bookings from clients drawn as much by the setting as the coffee service. Open daily from eight in the morning until ten at night, Dam8 occupies a rare position in Amsterdam's specialty scene, bringing serious coffee to the city's most visited public square and proving that a prime tourist spot and genuine quality are not mutually exclusive.
