This Fairtrade certified coffee is sourced from multiple smallholders across the Tolima department in Colombia's Andean Region. The coffee is grown at high altitudes averaging 1200-1300 meters, where the perfect balance of dry spells and rainfall creates ideal growing conditions. The beans develop a complex and nuanced flavor profile.
Adams & Russell has been roasting coffee in Birkenhead, near Liverpool, since 1978. They use small batch flame roasting methods, hand roasting specialty grade Arabica from origins spanning nearly every coffee growing country. Their Peninsula Blend earned two Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards. The company is both a registered Fairtrade Foundation Operator and a roaster of Rainforest Alliance certified coffees. In 2016 they opened a Coffee School with a dedicated espresso room for SCA certified barista training. They also supply wholesale clients with equipment from La Marzocco and Mahlkönig alongside their beans.
