Strait Coffee Traders

Named after the Strait of Canso and located in the small Nova Scotia town of the same name, Strait Coffee Traders holds the distinction of being Atlantic Canada's easternmost specialty coffee roastery. The founders, a husband and wife team, roast in small batches from a space overlooking Chedabucto Bay, bringing specialty grade coffee to a rural maritime community that might otherwise go without it. Beans are ethically sourced from Colombia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Brazil, and Honduras, with medium profiles that emphasize sweetness and balance. The maritime setting is not just scenic backdrop; it shapes the roastery's identity and its commitment to supporting local fisheries and the broader maritime economy. A wholesale program supplies cafes across Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada, and a subscription service extends the reach to customers throughout the region.
