So Roaster

SO Coffee Roasters was founded in Porto in 2019 by three friends who bonded over a shared passion for coffee at a previous company. The name "SO" stands for Southwest, a nod to Portugal's position in Europe and the founders' deep connection to Porto, with a second location opening in Lisbon just weeks after launch. The roastery sources micro lots from single origin, single harvest plantations, working closely with farmers and prioritizing fair compensation and environmental responsibility. Their team has earned national recognition, with Rui Pedrosa winning the 2022 Portuguese Barista Championship and placing in the top 15 at the World Barista Championship, and Luiz Lahutte Motta taking the 2024 SCA Portugal Brewers Cup. SO Coffee Roasters blends Portuguese heritage with a mission to share exceptional specialty coffee with everyone.
