David Rozali, an Indonesian coffee professional with over twelve years of experience as a barista, roaster, and certified Q Grader, founded Rozali Coffee in Berlin in 2017. He previously served as Head Roaster and Head of Production at The Barn, one of Berlin's most influential specialty roasters, before striking out on his own with just 8,000 to 10,000 euros raised from friends and family. Rather than investing in his own equipment, David operates as a nomadic roaster using shared facilities, a model that keeps overhead low while allowing full creative control over his profiles. His portfolio focuses on premium, high end specialty coffee and experimental microlots from Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Colombia. Rozali's lean approach proves that exceptional roasting is ultimately about the skill and palate of the person at the controls, not the size of the operation.
