Bohnenkartell

About This Coffee

This coffee is a single-origin Caturra variety from the El Renacer farm in Chinchiná, Caldas, Colombia. Grown at an altitude of 1600 meters, it undergoes a unique washed process combined with a strawberry co-fermentation using wine yeasts and specific cultures. This innovative method results in a complex, intense flavor profile featuring notes of strawberry milk, butter cookie, and chocolate. It is a light roast coffee with a creamy body and juicy character, recommended for filter brewing methods like V60, Aeropress, or French Press.

Bohnenkartell

Maximilian Kranz and Dominik Münstermann founded Bohnenkartell in Essen, building a cafe and roastery whose playful name, meaning "Bean Cartel," belies a serious commitment to specialty coffee. All green coffees meet the SCA Specialty Coffee standard of 80 points or above, and each batch is individually roasted on a drum roaster to preserve the unique aromas and characteristics of its origin. Bohnenkartell also offers SCA certified barista courses, cementing their role as both a quality focused roastery and an educational resource in the Ruhr Valley's specialty coffee scene.
