Espresso Mat Ong

Mókuska Kaffeerösterei

About This Coffee

A single-origin Robusta espresso from the Great Cherry Robusta Farm in Đắk Lắk, Vietnam, grown at 500–700 meters altitude on mineral-rich volcanic soil. The variety is Robusta-Sé (Coffea canephora), processed using the honey method with mucilage retained during drying. Roasted to a medium-dark level, it offers a full-bodied, sweet, and chocolatey profile with tasting notes of nougat, dark chocolate, and tamarind. "Mât Ong" means "honey" in Vietnamese, reflecting the sweetness imparted by the honey processing.

Mókuska Kaffeerösterei

Mókuska Kaffeerösterei arrived in 2014 as Stuttgart's first dedicated specialty coffee roastery, its Hungarian name meaning "little squirrel" giving the brand a distinctive and memorable identity. The roastery relocated to Stuttgart Feuerbach in January 2018, where the team roasts multiple times weekly on a drum roaster, working with directly and transparently traded Arabica and Canephora green coffee from Ethiopia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. Their light roasting philosophy is designed to highlight the characteristics of each coffee variety without the overlay of heavy roast flavors, letting origin speak for itself. Signature offerings include Mókuska No. 3, their house blend, and Brazilian Gold, with all coffee packaged and sealed by hand. The roastery's mission goes beyond the cup: they see themselves as an active part of the coffee value chain, committed to changing the industry through transparency and direct engagement with producers.
