About This Coffee

Kenya Thunguri AA is sourced from the Thunguri washing station in Kirinyaga district, affiliated with the Kibirigwi Farmers Cooperative, which has 1,500 active members each farming approximately half a hectare. The region features well-drained, fertile red volcanic soil. Coffee is hand-picked by smallholder farmers and undergoes a Kenya-style double washed process with two fermentation stages (24 hours + 12–24 hours), followed by a 24-hour soaking period in clean water to develop amino acids and proteins. Beans are then dried on raised beds.

Mlsnacava

Mlsnacava is the roasting project of Šimon Staš, René Hauser, and Matúš Gulbiš, three colleagues better known in the Slovak coffee industry through their company STACOMB Coffee Consultants, which distributes premium equipment from brands like Victoria Arduino, Nuova Simonelli, and Acaia across the country. Based in Banská Bystrica in central Slovakia, the trio holds the distinction of being the only SCA certified trainers in the nation and among just three active Q Graders. They trained their roasting approach in Copenhagen and have built a technology focused operation with a long term goal of bringing a Loring roaster to Slovakia and establishing a shared roasting facility for the local community. Every coffee is selected without compromise, and the roastery's name reflects their worldview: a pursuit of flavor that leaves no room for shortcuts.
