About This Coffee

This Ethiopia coffee is grown in the highlands of Yirgacheffe and processed naturally on Biloya smallholder farms. Lightly roasted to preserve delicate fruit-forward characteristics, it opens with notes of plum, followed by black tea and a soft apricot finish. The natural, raised-bed drying process enhances sweetness while keeping a clean cup, suitable for pour-over, drip, or light espresso.

La Cosecha Coffee Roasters

La Cosecha Coffee Roasters was founded in 2005 by Jamie Jeschke and John Gio Sparks in the St. Louis, Missouri area, starting as a wholesale operation focused on fair trade certified beans. In 2013, the company moved into its current roasting facility and café in historic downtown Maplewood, partnering with Great Harvest Bread Company to create a combined coffee and bakery space. La Cosecha sources roughly 90 percent of its coffee from small farms, with origins spanning Mexico, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, and Burundi, and holds both Fair Trade and Organic certifications. The business model now includes wholesale distribution, a retail café, and a mobile coffee truck called the Brewster that brings the roastery's coffee to events across the region.
