This coffee is sourced from the Gora Kone washing station located in the Sidamo region of Ethiopia. Around 700 small farms contribute to this operation, with most producers managing farms around 3 hectares in size, growing coffee under the shade of wanza and acacia trees. The cherries are handpicked, fermented underwater for 42-46 hours, and washed using fresh water from the Gerenbicho river. This is a classic Ethiopian flavor profile featuring sweet, clean fruit and delicate floral notes with peach iced tea, kiwi, pineapple, blueberries, and bergamot, accompanied by a sparkling acidity.
Case Coffee Roasters was founded in 2006 by Kati and Tim Case in Ashland, Oregon. The team roasts on a Diedrich IR 7 with a focus on light to medium profiles, using compostable packaging throughout. Sourcing follows a direct trade and relationship based model with an emphasis on sustainability, and USDA Organic certified coffees feature in the range. The café on Fourth Street serves espresso, pour over, and pastries from local bakeries, and the business supports nonprofits and arts organisations in the Ashland community through regular partnerships.
