This washed coffee originates from Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, on the border of Gedeo and Oromia zones at 1,900-2,200 meters altitude. Produced by 700 smallholder farmers surrounding the Gelana Abaya station, the coffee features Heirloom variety beans. Cherries are hand-sorted, pulped, fermented, and washed before drying on raised beds. The resulting coffee expresses bright, floral, and refined characteristics with tasting notes of apricot, peach, and black tea.
Felix Roasting Co. was founded in 2018 by Matt Moinian in New York City, opening its first location at 450 Park Avenue South with interiors designed by Ken Fulk. The roastery has since expanded to multiple locations including spots in SoHo, Midtown Manhattan, and Aspen. The menu features single origin coffees from Ethiopia and signature espresso blends, with a roasting philosophy built around elevated, carefully crafted drinks.
