Lucky Goat Coffee

About This Coffee

This single-origin coffee is grown in the Hambela region of Oromia, Ethiopia, at 2,100–2,300 meters elevation. The Wush Wush varietal is one of Ethiopia's rarest treasures, produced by a cooperative of 350 smallholder farmers. The coffee undergoes an extended 120-hour dry anaerobic fermentation in sealed containers, followed by slow drying on raised beds for 18–21 days. The cup features white peach, watermelon, and cotton candy tasting notes with a juicy, expressive character. Scoring 90 points, this light roast delivers layered sweetness and clarity.

Lucky Goat Coffee

Lucky Goat Coffee was founded in 2010 by Ben Pautsch in Tallahassee, Florida, starting as a pure wholesale operation that spent its first five years building a network of over 350 accounts across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. The company's roastmasters develop unique profiles for each single origin coffee, hand roasting at the Tallahassee facility and shipping nationwide. Lucky Goat sources through importers it has vetted for origin, farming practices, and farmer welfare, and grades all café coffees at specialty level to ensure producers retain negotiating power. The business has since expanded to multiple Tallahassee cafés, a Jacksonville franchise, and a Texas outpost in Frisco, with a café consultation and equipment servicing arm supporting other operators.
